Usually, we check whether a fall arrester is in good condition through two steps. Firstly, we check the cover of the arrester to see if there are cracks, rust, deformation, and other issues. Through the above two tests, it can be concluded that the high-altitude fall arrester is in good condition.
In addition to the above two tests, it is recommended to shake before use to determine if there is any looseness inside the high-altitude fall arrester. If there is looseness in the screws inside the high-altitude fall arrester, and the structure of components such as eccentric cams, pawls, and ratchets is unstable, a sound will be emitted, and slight shaking inside can also be felt, indicating that there is looseness in the internal components.
Before testing the high-altitude fall arrester, shake it by hand to ensure that the entire component of the fall arrester is relatively stable, and then proceed to the next step to avoid all safety hazards as much as possible.
